After dinner and
wishing good night to my parents, I went to my room so anxious to read
Reet's personal diary. I knew that reading someone’s diary without the
person's permission is not right. However, I was curious to know
about Reet's life story.
In his diary, Reet shared
his sweet memories with family, friends, colleagues, etc. He was an
innocent guy but very friendly and caring attitude towards anyone. As
I turned the pages of the diary, I learned more about Reet’s
character. It's almost the end of the diary but I didn't see
an indication that Reet committed suicide.
Reet's last entry in his
diary was an address written and underlined with a smiley sign. The
last page of the diary was raucous that
hit my mind with questions and wondered who did that? If Reet
did it, what was written on the page that he didn’t want others to see?
Whose address is it that was underlined and has a smiley sign? Having
doubts in my mind made me feel tired and fall asleep.
At due time, my alarm came on that woke me up. "Oh my God" I said to myself and rushed to get ready for office because it was already late. I kept the diary with me and left home in an office cab. While inside the cab, I was looking at the stand where I usually see Reet but that day I didn’t see him there. I kept this incident and mystery confidential to myself. I reached office on time and during my break, I took the diary from my purse, noted down the address and searched for that address on the internet. There were same addresses in different locations that confused me which address matches the one mentioned on the diary. Suddenly I noticed that one of the displayed address is Reet’s company where he was about to join. His mother told me that when they left for the pilgrimage tour, he was going to his company for some documentation process. This is another hint to find out the mystery behind Reet’s suicide.
On next day, I went to that
address which I got from Reet’s diary. That was IT Company where Reet was about
to join. A tall building, full fleshed with the glass and luxurious interiors,
whosoever entered that building will be wishing to join in such great working
environment. I must say the owner of the company must have spent lots
of money in the office infrastructure. Well after getting rid of this
luxurious company dream, I came into the reality for which purpose I was there.
I went to the reception and asked the lady sitting there, "Excuse me! I want to
get some information about Reet." Hearing this, the receptionist made strange
expressions towards me and asked who Reet is? "We don’t have any employee
with this name? I think you have come to a wrong company." I replied, "I know,
he is not an employee here, he was about to join here, but on the very next day
he was found dead in his home. Receptionist recalled his memories and said,
"Oh Yes! Now I remember when I joined here that time such incident happened with
a guy here, who was very talented but unfortunate thing happened with him."
Then receptionist told me to take a seat on the couch, offered me a
glass of water and asked me to wait so that she can bring his document and
related information.
She came back with the
documents and told me that Reet was appointed but didn’t know why he decided not
to join the company. I was shocked with this news, I said, "What are
you talking about mam?" The receptionist replied, "Yes, see here, his
signature on this document. It clearly showed that he was not joining
here. I looked at the whole document and found that receptionist was saying
the truth. I was again hopeless now, that all went in vain, but again a
question got in my mind. When anyone wish to join such big IT
company that pays a good amount of salary, good infrastructure
working atmosphere then why Reet decided not to join here? What happened to him,
who made him take decision like this? While going towards the lift, I was
looking at the employees who were working, some were talking with each other. On
the corner of the building space, I saw a young guy who was looking at me.
I ignored him and took the lift, as the lift was about to close, he also entered
in the lift. I was feeling very uncomfortable and he said to me, "Hello mam, I
can tell you something about Reet?" I was shocked that how he knows that I have
come here for this purpose. Then he told me that he have heard all the
conversation between me and the receptionist. I asked him,” Why are you
going to help me in this?" He said, "Because I knew there were some
suspicious concern in Reet's decision why not to join here." I said,
"How can you say that? Do you have any proof or evidence on this
belief?"
He said, "Let’s go to the café outside of the office building then I will explain you everything?" I was not having any other option so I accepted the offer and went to the café with him. We sat there and he ordered for 2 cups of coffee. I asked him, now tell me how you are sure that there is some suspicious concern in Reet’s decision. He said, “Okay, let me tell you the whole story. Reet and I come on the same day for our documentation process. For the first time I meet him, he was very friendly and intelligent guy. He told me about his achievements in the college and studies, here only I came to know that Reet is going to be paid as 2nd highest salary package according to this company while joining. He told me about his dreams for his families and was going to buy some expensive gifts for his parents. He was very happy that day then our boss came and he took away Reet with himself and I waited for my turn. After some time our manager brought me inside his cabin, where I signed the documents and waited for Reet in the reception.
After waiting so long, I
saw Reet and I found that he was very furious, his face was full of anger. He
came to me and said to me, "If you love your honesty and your country, then
think again." saying this line, he left the building. I was so puzzled and
thought what happened to him? Just before 3-4 hours this guy was so happy and
now just looking at him, filled with anger and what does this means?” "If
you love your honesty and your country, then think again?" Why he said
this to me, what he wants to tell me? I thought a lot and left for my
home.
Next day when I came to the office, I saw police here and then I came to know that Reet has been found dead at his own home. He committed suicide; I was also shocked with this news. Then I remembered the face and recalled the line of Reet, which he said to me. So mam! This is the entire story and like you I also believe that Reet can’t commit suicide, there is surely some other story behind his death and when I heard the conversation between you and receptionist, I decided to tell you this entire story and even I am here to help you. After hearing this entire story, my belief was increased to some extent that there is really a story behind Reet’s suicide mystery. I asked his name, he said, "Well mam, my name is Raj and if you want you can have my card. Whenever you need my help just call me. I will also try to get some info from this office, as I believe whatever happened with Reet, started from here only." I thanked him for his wonderful help and gave my contact number to Raj and left from the café.
