The Red Ribbon

Once their was a woman named Monika. She was strikingly beautiful and charming. A man named Manish got attracted to her and they soon fell in love. Mona had one thing peculiar in her that she had a red ribbon tied across her neck which she never took off. Manish who was bewildered by it, one day, asked Mona about it. ''Mona, do you never take that ribbon off your neck?'' ''No.'' was the quiet answer. ''But why?'' Manish retorted. ''You don't have any need to know that.'' She replied in a slightly annoyed tone. He shrugged and didn't asked anymore.

Soon the two got married and even had a son. But she never took off the red ribbon which was regularly arousing Manish's curiosity. So one day he asked again about it and tried to take it off himself. Mona screamed leaving Manish frozen in his place. She cried loudly'' Why the hell were you doing that?'' She warned him never to do anything of that kind again. But Manish's curiosity had not settled.

One day he thought of an idea to get rid of the ribbon. He went to the jewelry shop and bought a very beautiful diamond necklace for his wife. ''She will surely take off that damn ribbon for this necklace.'' He thought to himself and took it home. When Mona saw the necklace, she was delighted but wore it over the red ribbon. Manish was disappointed.

Then one day, his curiosity overcame him and in the silent of the night, he sneaked out of bed and went to his wife who was sound asleep with the ribbon still in her neck. Caring that he might not wake her up, he gently pulled at the lace and it came out into his hand. Mona's head fell to the ground apart from her body and said ''I told you not to.'' Manish screamed and screamed and screamed.......
